Turn-by-turn directions
The start is directly on the shore of the Alpsee, at the lakeside pier. For the run-in, the route first runs along the lakeside promenade on a gravel path for just under a kilometre before heading uphill to Zaumberg. From there we continue uphill on paths to the Siedelalpe and at the same time the highest point of the tour.
From there we have a beautiful postcard view of the Alpsee lake lying deep below.

Now we go downhill over alpine meadows to Trieblings. Via Alpe Schönesreuth and the Hochreute estate, you return to the lakeside promenade. The route now runs directly along the shore of the lake to Ratholz, where the main road is crossed underneath and the climb to Gschwend awaits. Finally, there is a strenuous trail along the Hornweg before a short stretch on the cycle path along the main road towards the finish area. With the Alpsee in front of you, the sprint to the finish almost doesn't hurt any more.
