The so-called “Waldhusche“ in Saxon Switzerland is a large area where children and adults can learn about the history of forest management and the natural processes occuring in the forest. The trail is made up of four interconnected themed routes, featuring more than 40 learning stations.

Die Waldhusche ist ein Wegenetz von 4 miteinander verbundenen Themenwegen. Das Gelände ist das ganze Jahr über frei zugänglich. Der Haupteingang zur Waldhusche befindet sich am Parkplatz an der Buchenparkhalle. Ein Teil der Wege ist auch für Rollstuhlfahrer geeignet und entsprechend markiert. Die Wegeführung ist sehr abwechslungsreich mit interaktiven Komponenten für die ganze Familie. Was für Kinder gut ist, ist für Erwachsene genau richtig!

Bus number 241 from Pirna, Königstein, Bad-Schandau up to Hinterhermsdorf, Erbgericht

Bus number 268 from Sebnitz up to Hinterhermsdorf, Erbgericht

Getting there

From Pirna on the B172 via Königstein to Bad Schandau. Cross the Elbe river in Bad Schandau and approximately 500 metres after the bridge take a left towards Sebnitz. Please drive via Sebnitz since the route through the “Kirnitzschtal“ valley leads straight through the national park. From Bad Schandau, continue via Altendorf, Mittelndorf and Lichtenhain to Sebnitz. Carry on via Saupsdorf to Hinterhermsdorf. Once there, follow the signs "Obere Schleuse".
